Midori used to be my favorite place for sushi, hands down. But ever since the management changed, things are not the same. The quality of food is lacking, service is not good, they don't even serve real wasabi any longer. Last time I ate there, I got sick afterwards. I don't recommend this restaurant any longer.

So in Midori's defense I've only been there twice during the lunch hour. However, both times have been a jumble of waiter-order confusion, mediocre food, limited choices, and a large portion of the time spent waiting. Food is brought out as it is prepared so some people are finished with their meals before other people have even received their food. Both times orders were brought out that were incorrect or missing items. A coworker ordered two lunch combos at $8.50 each and promised 10 pcs per order. He received 6 pcs each at a total of $12 each and was told "10 pieces is just an approximation". After two tries I will never go back. East Lansing has 5 very nice sushi places.

its the only place i have ever been to that the quality of service, selection of sushi and korean bbq was this amazing. The Kalbi or bbq beef rib tips boneless, are the best i have ever had. Sake is ok make sure u follow those rules for drinkin it though. I drive from detroit metro airport area 86 miles to lansing just for this place. I cannot find anywhere else that replicates the experience. so enjoy it if your close. Kampai! or Cheers!
