Best sushi that I have ever eaten!. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday on a Sunday at 6pm. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 10 minutes. Per my request we were seated at one of the traditional low tables. I do think that they should warn individuals that they have to take off their shoes. Our waitress was very diligent and we commented more than once that she was constantly busy. The food was delicious (best sushi that I have ever eaten hands down) but it did take a while for our rolls to reach our table but our waitress was attentive always filling our water glasses. I will definitely return to Sansu.
Oh how I miss this place!.
I recently moved to Dallas after spending almost five years in the Lansing/ East Lansing area. I didn't discover Sansu until about 2004, but I made up for my short time there with frequent visits. After moving to Dallas I've tried almost 15 sushi restaurants to try and regain the magic of Sansu, but every one has fallen short in some aspect.
Sansu has the best of every world: the rolls are huge, the prices are phenomenal, and the fish is always fresh! Don't even get me started on their rice. I used to make jokes about a "rice roll" or "just bring me a plate of this". Rice is the heart of sushi, and if the rice isn't right nothing can make up for that.
On top of that, at most restaurants you're lucky to recieve an oshiburi (the traditional warm moist hand towel). Sansu gives you the Miso Soup and the house salad with a delicious peanut and ginger dressing free! I've paid $7 a person for that sort of thing.
Sure the wait can be a little excessive, especially on a saturday night, but I would wait six hours for a booth there if it meant another Champagne roll, or a perfect piece of sashimi. If you love sushi, or if you want to experience something new, give Sansu a try! (They also have a "normal menu" for the fish-hater in the family so don't be afraid to give it a go!)
Best Sushi. When you go to this place, its amazing! The food is super good and they have two nice seating areas because they changed locations just down the strip mall. Its the best authentic sushi ever! I reccomend the Rock n roll, its not on the menu, you just have to ask for it. YUM!!
Voted Best of best sushi in 2006. Best secret in town. We frequent Sansu almost every week and every time we go, the place is packed. There are long waits on the weekend but definitely worth the wait. Great service and fresh fresh fish. Cute Japanese sit down rooms in the back and a huge sushi bar with 5 sushi chefs. The service is great and a lot of fun drinks, try the saketini with cucumber!
Yum, yum!. I visited SanSu w/ several of my friends & their Specialty Rolls are devine. You should try several different ones & share amongst your friends. The price isn't bad either, compared to some of the other sushi restaurants I've been to. I highly recommend this place!
