Sports restaurant-bar draws fans who love the food as much as the game..
Using their original burgers-and-beer joint in St. Paul, Minn., as a base modl, this sports-themed chain is now a popular hangout for all ages nationwide. The memorabilia-loaded space is crowded with families and friends chatting over chili cheeseburgers, bourbon-glazed pork chops and large orders of soups and salads. On major game nights, the shiny wooden bar area is packed with small groups eyeing the monitors above while cheering or grumbling into their pints and fries.
Patrons who have special dietary needs. My experience this past Sunday 3/12/06 wasn't the best. I asked if I could subsitute a toss salad for a pasta salad and told that it would cost another two dollars. It appears to me that this restaurant DOSEN'T care about Customers of their's with dietary restrictions.
Big portions for hungry people. Champp's is a great place to go when you are hungry and have a few extra dollars to spend. Tip well because these folks work hard. Thursday nights are the Karaoke nights, where people can win $50 in three-four different categories! It is a great place for groups and the portions are more than filling. The food is quality: what you can expect for a more upscale sports bar and grille. Still, Champps was at the lower end of the spectrum in many other places I have been, so let that say what it will for our mid-Michigan area. I still hold out hope for more wonderful restaurants to come...
