Great for Half-off wine night. Beggar's might seem a little dingy during the daylight, but it really has a great ambience. They have an okay wine list featuring way too many californian and australian wines, but it's wine nonetheless. Food is a little buttery, but I attribute that to it's slightly French tendencies. Not good for hushed conversation, but a great wine alternative to a mostly beer college town.

Best place for food/wine in East Lansing. Beggar's has a great menu, and wonderful selection of wines. Go to 1/2 wine night for the best deals, but go early to avoid cover charges. Nice atmosphere, but mostly college students for special occasions, and overall one of the city's best.

good eats, even better wine deals wed.. Beggar's is the perfect place in E.L. to have a good meal and even better alcohol at a reasonable price. The menu is creative, has good presentation, decent service ( college town) , interesting conversation and a great wine selection. If your in E.L. this is the place to go.
