WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I tried this spa a few times, not just once, and each time I walked out of there feeling like I spent too much money for what I was getting. I thought it was just me at first, but the truth is, its them. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to mention a FEW of the negative things: I asked for a trim and got a cut, way shorter than I asked for and I hated the shape, and I was still charged the full price of a cut which was $67!!) They had my appointment time wrong and the gentleman at the front desk gave me a really difficult time about it. He also did nothing when I was finished and made it obvious that I was unhappy with my service. I also felt like I didn't matter to them because I wasn't a "regular". They treat their frequent customers so much better than the new guests. The Massage was far from relaxing, I heard the other employees laughing and talking in the hallways. And the overall experience of every other time I was was always just simply disappointing.

Great Salon!. I usually go to another Aveda salon but I had something come up and had to get in asap. I was impressed by the service that I received and the stylist was knowledgeable and very fashionable! If I didn't have a salon to call home I would make this my hair palace. Thanks for the great style and I would recomend anyone looking for a place on the east side of lansing to try this salon.

Dissappointed every time I go. I have only gone to Douglass J. a few times, but each time after I go my hair looks so greasy, and smells from about a mile away because of all the products they put in it. For formal events I have gone to have my hair done, and not only did the stylist do something completely different than what I asked, but I disliked the look of it so much that when I returned home I took it out and styled it myself - what a waste of $60. After having my hair cut, highlighted and done up at Douglass J, I have concluded that the stylists are clearly more interested in doing your hair how they like it, rather than how you want it too look.

Not that great..... I had a level 2 stylist & a Level 1 colorist. Stylist was nice, seemed enthusiastic, but could not work with my hair. I have wavy, thicker hair. I had to go back to have it fixed & it was ALOT shorter than I wanted.

I also had my color done, requested RED highlights, I also said not too much b/c I did not want to lighten my overall dark dark brown shade she did a bunch of pieces... came out a frosty blonde look. After she finished I said it was lighter than I had wanted & a little too many highlights. She didn't offer to fix it or for me to come back... did not even apologize or seem that concerned....
